On the occasion of delight of the Bless-One's achievement, all Buddhists returned to Dong Cao Pagoda, Thanh Hoa province, (belonging to the Hoang Phap Pagoda ‘s sect) to attend the great ceremony on the evening of Jan. 26th, 2026 (Dec. 8th, LC).

The Enlightenment of the Buddha is a highlight in the religious history of humanity, ushering in a new era of equality, selflessness, and compassion. Nearly three millennia have passed, and the world has undergone many changes, the Buddha's teachings remain an eternal message for humanity to examine, study, and practice. In every aspect, with a pure and clear mind, each person can see the embodiment of truth, wisdom, and compassion of the Buddha. Under the guidance of Junior Thich Tam Hung – Abbot of Dong Cao Pagoda, head of the organizers, the mass fulfilled the spirit of "Transmitting and continuing the True Dharma."

First, the monks and all attendees had a period of quiet contemplation to remember the Buddha's virtues, thereby strengthening their faith and forming a profound spiritual connection. Then, the Abbot praised the enthusiasm of the monks and Buddhists everywhere who had contributed to creating a solemn altar for the great ceremony.

Following the incense offering, paying homage to the Three Jewels, and meditation, the mass offered flowers to the statue of Shakyamuni Buddha. The mass recited the Sutra of Turning the Wheel of Dharma, chanted the Buddha's name, and reviewed five precepts for lay Buddhists. This was a fortunate opportunity for the attendees to review the Buddha's teachings, recite and take the Three Refuges and Five Precepts, so that each person could accumulate the necessary knowledge on the path of learning, understanding, and practicing the Buddha's teachings correctly.

On behalf of the organizers, the Abbot reminded the listeners to strive in their practice, to be like a torch lighting their own mind and body. To achieve enlightenment, cultivators need diligence and perseverance in complying their vows, not abandoning the initial ideals because of obstacles. Pure-Land Practitioners should strive to cultivate faith, vows, and practice to attain happiness in the present moment.

Last, Dong Cao Pagoda will hold its year-end Dharma thanking ceremony for the Year of the Snake (2025) and the Four Grace ceremony on Sunday, Feb. 8th, 2026 will have guided by Junior Thich Tam Hung.
